Page, AZ - Tourist town in Navajo Nation - economy 99% dependent on tourism. Tourists everywhere as season lasts till October. Not much of driving planned for today - as tonight's stay is also in Page.
Morning started with booking tours. Last night, we had booked the Antelope Canyon tour for tomorrow (Day 10) morning, as all time slots of today's tours with all the tour operators were sold out. For today we booked a tour for the Horseshoe Bend in the morning and the Antelope Canyon Boat cruise for the afternoon.
Even though The Horseshoe Bend tour is open to the public, we went with a private tour operator - Horseshoe Bend Tours - and it proved to be a great decision. We got access to a private spot just a few feet away from the Public spot with a full view of the Horseshoe bend and could spend lots of time without any interference. It's a fantastic sight! So, lots of pictures.
Afternoon, we chose the boat tour from Lake Powell Resorts from Wahweap Marina, as it included a view of the Glen Canyon Dam. On the way we stopped at the Wahweap viewpoint for a few pictures. Again a good decision - we had and hour and half cruise and the weather helped by being partly cloudy. The boat tour took us to Antelope Canyon, Glen Canyon Dam and The Sandstone Cliffs.
All in all a very good sightseeing day!
Day stats: about 20 miles of local travel
