Started the day very early (Mix-up on AZ mountain time and DST) - so reported at 6:30am instead of 7:30am for the Antelope Canyon tour. The tour place was located about three miles south of the Page Power Plant, which was about a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Had to wait for an hour for the tour company to open up. Around forty or fifty people with about half-a-dozen guides. Our guide had 9 couples and we were loaded into a military style truck (10 wheeler) - six trucks and two SUV's (for families with infants) in all. A fifteen minute dusty drive and we reached the Antelope Canyon. Very strict rules - only camera allowed, no handbags, backpacks, selfie sticks or tripods - unless you book a photography tour, when tripods were allowed.
We walked in single file and as soon as we entered the canyon were immediately wowed. What beautiful sandstone formations and striations with the sunlight making all sorts of shadows and colors. Tons of pictures - kept on clicking every which way. More than 250 pictures in an hour. We are brought back to the parking lot the same way - we were all dusty and tired - but happy.
After the Antelope Canyon tour, we drove to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon via US89 North and AZ67 South. Took about three hours to drive the 130 miles. Lunched on Pizza at the Grand Canyon Lodge Deli and hiked to the Bright Angel Point for pictures.
Back to the car and after about a two hour drive (about 90 miles) via AZ67 North and US89 North, we were in Kanab, where we will be for a couple of nights.
Day Stats: about 210 miles
